The 5-night escorted tour explores the full spectrum of Havana, both old and new. Experienced, bilingual tour guides will lead your small group around local artists’ studios, tobacco farms, the Angeles del Futuro children’s community project for circus and acrobatics and UNESCO World Heritage sites. At times you’ll even tour Cuba in a fleet of classic American cars from the 1950s.

You’ll be moving all day, so be sure to pack some good walking shoes. And, though your meals and drinks are provided, you might want to think about bringing snacks, hand sanitizer, sunblock and any other small things you think might make your trip more comfortable.

Your charter flights out of Miami and Havana will most likely leave in the early morning or afternoon to make sure you get to spend the most time possible in Cuba. Day 1: HAVANA - Arrival

Your early morning flight from Miami to Havana will give you time to enjoy a panoramic overview of Havana on the way to La Torre where you’ll get to enjoy your first delicious Cuban meal with a backdrop of Havana’s skyline. After lunch, you’ll check-in to your hotel, take some time to settle in and then enjoy a ride in a caravan of antique American cars on your way to dinner.

Day 2: HAVANA - Historic Center

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel followed by a leisurely walk through Old Havana’s historic center, which includes visiting a graphic arts studio and the Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos where you’ll learn the latest restoration techniques used to preserve historic buildings and homes in the city. Then, take a break for lunch at La Casa Paladar, followed by a visit to the large San Jose craft market and Vocal Clave de Sol kids’ project before returning to the hotel to prepare for dinner at Jardin de los Milagros.

Day 3: HAVANA - Pinar del Rio

After breakfast at the hotel, you will head out to Pinar del Rio enjoying a scenic drive of the lush countryside with a stop at Los Jazmines Hotel for a breathtaking view of Viñales valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Once you arrive in Viñales, you’ll visit a local tobacco farm and learn how world-famous Cuban cigars are made by the farmer and his family. After experiencing life on the farm, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at Palenque de los Cimarrones and visit La Cueva del Indio where you’ll experience what it’s like to cruise along an underground river. From there, you’ll visit the city center of Viñales, known for its colorful homes, then return to the hotel to freshen up then go to dinner at La Fontana restaurant with the group.

Day 4: HAVANA - Art Walk

Once breakfast has been eaten, you’ll start the day learning about the Cuban economy’s complex past from a local professor who will give insight into what the future may hold for the largest island in the Caribbean. Afterward, tour the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de La Habana with a local art expert and learn about Cuban contemporary art, followed by lunch at La Fontana. You will then ride to Jaimanitas to visit the studio of the famous Cuban artist and ceramic sculptor Jose Rodriguez Fuster and hear from community leaders on the impact of Fuster’s art. Afterwards, you’ll visit the Angeles del Futuro children’s community project for circus and acrobatics. End a day full of Cuban culture with a ride back to the hotel, then dinner at Café Laurent.

Day 5: HAVANA - Agriculture & Art

Head out to the University of Havana after breakfast to learn about education in Cuba, then enjoy a visit to La Fabrica de Arte gallery with a presentation on the current exhibit and discussion with young Cuban artists. Next, interact with the family and workers at Finca La Yoandra, an organic urban farm, where you’ll hear about the organic cultivation practice in Cuba. After lunch at Il Divino, you’ll visit a local artist’s studio to hear about art in Cuba. To end the day, you’ll return to the hotel then head to dinner at Rico.

Day 6: HAVANA - Departure

As your last day in Cuba, you’ll enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then check-out and depart for the airport full of lasting memories and new friendships you formed while experiencing the vibrant country and culture of Cuba
